Connection Groups
Follow Jesus with others.
Connection groups exist to help us live out the one-anothers of scripture.
Beginning September 7 (Fall 2025), we will provide clarity and focus on what will be considered our Groups ministry. After carefully analyzing our small group model, we have made the prayerful decision to make adjustments for the sake of the ongoing equipping of the saints. We believe that the Lord wants us to take seriously the call to live in Christian community, while also prioritizing the intentional discipleship of our people, specifically, the members of Veritas Church. These realities do not need to be at odds with one another, however, we recognize that one type of small group will not meet both needs optimally. With that in mind, we are going to clarify the two types of Groups that will exist at Veritas Church for the sake of fellowship and formation.
Connection Group (CGroup):
A small group of assimilated attendees who are committed to the relational care of one another through bi-monthly meetings (First and Third weeks) containing intentional question asking, the application of God’s Word, and prayer.
What’s the same?
Currently considered “couples’ nights” in all groups.
- Expected for members, as part of Covenant Belonging.
What’s the change?
Shifting away from sermon-specific questions and towards generic discipleship questions under the categories of “know, love, and follow.”
Know: What are you learning about God?
Love: How are you growing in your love for God?
Follow: Where are you being challenged in your obedience to God?
Discipleship Group (DGroup) :
An intimate group of same-gender Veritas Church members who are committed to intentional discipleship and accountability through bi-monthly meetings (Second and Fourth weeks).
- Taking the place of what’s currently considered “men's/women's nights” in all groups.
- Restricted to members only and formed under the umbrella of Connection Group, overseen by elder-appointed leaders.
Four Tenets of DGroups
Each DGroup will cover four key tenets:
Read & Reflect (Bible)
What has God been speaking to me through His Word?
Repent & Receive (Repentance)
How have I fallen short of God’s glory, and how is the gospel good news?
Request & Respond (Prayer)
What am I needing to ask for/talk to my Heavenly Father about?
Rejoice & Relay (Mission)
How am I living out the joy of my salvation and sharing my faith with others?
