Our Beliefs

What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the living Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts. We believe it was written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is complete in revealing the character of God. We believe it contains all authoritative instruction for matters of faith and conduct.

We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons. We believe each is equal in divine perfection and works in perfect harmony with the others to fulfill distinct roles in the work of creation, providence and redemption.

We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of all mankind, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and His physical return to earth.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe He regenerates, sanctifies and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every follower of Jesus Christ and is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.

We believe all people are sinners by nature, heritage and choice. As a result of sin, we deserve condemnation. We believe those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as their only savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church that is comprised of followers of Jesus Christ, who upon a credible confession of faith are associated for worship, instruction and fellowship. We believe members of the local church are directed to live-out the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in the Bible and to teach the Gospel of Jesus.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ instructed the local church with two ordinances: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe the Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer into water as a demonstration of the triune God’s power to cleanse sin and regenerate new life in Christ. We believe the Lord’s Supper commemorates Christ’s atonement for our sins through His sacrificial death. We believe these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the physical return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of believers who are redeemed by the grace of Jesus Christ and the endless suffering of those who deny His authority.
